Mississippi

The Magnolia State features a diverse landscape that includes the Delta, Red Clay Hills, Piney Woods, Black Prairie, and the Gulf Coast which all make Mississippi an ideal destination for sportsmen and women.  Mississippi features a rich hunting and angling heritage that even includes the birth of the infamous “Teddy Bear,” which resulted from President Teddy Roosevelt’s participation in a black bear hunt in the Delta along the Mississippi River. Popular opportunities that are pursued by sportsmen and women in the Magnolia State include premium white-tailed deer hunting, world-class waterfowl hunting in the Delta, chasing hard-gobbling eastern wild turkeys, and more. Anglers can also experience excellent white and black crappie fishing in numerous lakes across the state, including Enid Lake which currently features the world record white crappie weighing in at an astounding 5.3 pounds! With over 2 million acres of public lands and an abundance of lakes, rivers, and streams, Mississippi is a destination that hunters, anglers, trappers, and recreational shooters will not want to miss.
