Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council Meets in Charlotte

On October 2, the Hunting and Shooting Sports Conservation Council (HSSCC) met in Charlotte, North Carolina to discuss a number of different sportsmen’s issues.

HSSCC advises and provides recommendations to the Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue and Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke on a wide range of issues including: wildlife and habitat conservation, increasing access to hunting and the shooting sports on public and private lands, increasing public awareness about the importance and benefits of hunting, recreational shooting, and many other issues concerning America’s sportsmen and women. Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) President Jeff Crane currently serves as the HSSCC Chairman.

This meeting focused on implementing and enhancing outdoor recreation opportunities related to Secretarial Orders, as well as providing updates and recommendations to officials from the Department of the Interior and Agriculture on efforts to create or expand hunting and recreational shooting opportunities on Federal lands.

When announced, the next HSSCC meeting date will be published in the Federal Register.
