Indiana: Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation Meets with In-State Sportsmen’s Groups

Contact: Nick Buggia, Upper Midwestern States Manager

On August 17, Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) Upper Midwestern States Manager Nick Buggia traveled to Edinburgh, IN where he was invited to speak to the Indiana Sportsmen’s Roundtable (Roundtable), a coalition of in-state hunting, fishing, trapping, and conservation organizations that work to promote pro-sportsmen policies in the state.

The meeting was an opportunity for CSF to share its mission with members of the Indiana sportsmen’s community, update them on work being done and discuss how to strengthen efforts within the state.

Much of the meeting was spent discussing 2020 legislative priorities and strategies to be more pro-active on issues such as: forestry management, DNR funding, angling access, and trapping issues. The Roundtable meeting also include a discussion of national policies and opportunities to vocalize support for Recovering America’s Wildlife Act (RAWA), The Brandon Road Lock and Dam Asian carp deterrent project, and working to protect access to public lands.

“Our missions overlap, and I appreciated the opportunity to share CSF’s mission with the Roundtable. I look forward to working with the Roundtable in providing an even stronger foundation of support for the sportsmen and women of Indiana,” said Buggia.
