Policy Advisors

CSF initiated the Policy Advisors program in 2022 to leverage the policy expertise and institutional knowledge of seasoned professionals who have retired from their roles as leaders within the hunting, fishing, trapping, and recreational shooting community. To be eligible to serve as a Policy Advisor, an individual must possess and demonstrate a high-level of knowledge of the intricacies of fish and wildlife management, political processes, public access programs, and a thorough understanding of our sporting heritage and other issues impacting America’s sportsmen and women.

The Policy Advisors program provides the opportunity for full-time CSF staff to work closely with experts and former leaders of the sporting-conservation community with the goal of leveraging their expertise, knowledge, and leadership for the betterment of our collective sporting community, our fish and wildlife resources, and their habitats. Individuals within CSF’s Policy Advisors program are committed to cultivating our next generation of sporting-conservation leaders by operating in a voluntary manner to share their expertise, guidance, and unique perspectives on issues that are championed by CSF.

Your opinion counts

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
