The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) recently hosted a booth at the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) 2014 Legislative Summit in Minneapolis, MN. NCSL is a bipartisan group of state legislators from around the country that works to assist state legislatures in developing and sharing policies and information in order to promote legislative efficiency and effectiveness.
The summit once again served as an excellent informational forum for CSF, with Midwestern States Director Chris Horton and Western States Coordinator Zach Widner meeting with state legislators and industry representatives from across the nation to discuss sportsmen’s issues, the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) sportsman-legislator network, and CSF’s role. CSF’s booth remained a popular destination for attendees, with faces both new and old stopping in to learn about the Foundation’s mission and the work of state sportsmen’s legislative caucuses.
Next year’s NCSL Legislative Summit will take place in Seattle, WA.
Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades.
