The Bureau of Land Management is currently seeking nominations for citizens who wish to participate on Resource Advisory Councils (RACs) at the local level in states throughout the West. Comprised of 10 to 15 citizen-members, RACs provide appointed public stakeholders with the opportunity to offer the BLM recommendations on how the agencies approximately 245 million acres of public land should be managed.
Many in the outdoor community depend on access to BLM and other public lands for opportunities to hunt, fish and shoot. Consequently, it is critically important that sportsmen and women have the chance to make their voices heard as government managers make important decisions related to access, habitat and land use.
BLM issued a call for nominations in the January 28 edition of the Federal Register. Those interested in applying for appointment to a Resource Advisory Council in their area should fill out the required RAC Application form available here.
