January 14, 2019 (WASHINGTON, D.C.) – The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors welcomes four conservation leaders in 2020. These conservation leaders will champion CSF’s mission of protecting and advancing hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping in the halls of government.
Joining 25 other Board members, CSF’s new members include Pete Angle, Chief Marketing Officer of Marolina Outdoor, HUK, and Nomad apparel; James Cummins, Executive Director of Wildlife Mississippi; Harlan Kent, CEO of Pure Fishing; and Bob Ziehmer, Conservation Director for Bass Pro Shops.
Leading the Board this year is Chairman Jason Hornady, Hornady Manufacturing; Vice-Chair Simon Roosevelt, Olimpia Fund Management, Ltd.; Secretary James Debney, Smith & Wesson; and Treasurer Ralph Castner, Rush Creek Advisors, LLC.
“With a variety of leaders from across the conservation community, CSF boasts a renowned and distinctive Board that is proactive in its mission of protecting and advancing pro-hunting, angling, and recreational shooting policies,” said Hornady. “For 30 years, CSF has been instrumental in facilitating pro-sportsmen legislation, and the strength of this Board signifies our support in helping them meet our greatest needs as American sportsmen.”
This year’s outgoing Board members include Phil Morlock, Director of Environmental Affairs for Shimano, and John Paul Morris, General Manager of Bass Pro Shops Online Store.
Phil Morlock played a pivotal role over the course of his tenure on the Board, particularly for his leadership in the launch of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) in 2004, which today is comprised of over 2,000 state legislators from 49 states.
John Paul Morris’ dedication to protect the future of hunting, fishing, trapping and recreational shooting was significant to the advancements that CSF made throughout his tenure on the Board.
“Phil Morlock and John Paul Morris were instrumental to the success of CSF during their terms,” said CSF President Jeff Crane. “We are very grateful for their dedication of time and resources to CSF’s mission.”

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
