On January 11, Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus Member Governor Mike DeWine signed knife ban repeal legislation into law.
Senate Bill 140 repeals the prohibition against carrying a concealed deadly weapon if the knife is not used as a weapon and removes the prohibition against the manufacture or sale of certain types of knives, including knives that are legal to possess in Ohio.
The legislation was sponsored by former Ohio Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus (Caucus) Co-Chair Senator Joe Uecker. Over the course of two years, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) coordinated with partners and Caucus members in submitting letters of support to the legislature during important legislative junctures. CSF also communicated support for the bill to the Governor’s office to help get it over the finish line.
CSF would like to express our appreciation to Governor DeWine for signing the bill that will benefit Ohio’s sportsmen and women.
