As of June 1, Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) President Jeff Crane has been reappointed as a member of the Sport Fishing and Boating Partnership Council (SFBPC), and CSF Vice President Gary Kania has been reappointed as an alternate member. Appointed by the Secretary of Interior for two-year terms, the Council consists of seasoned representatives from sportsmen conservation organizations and federal and state natural resources agencies.
The group’s mission is to “advise the Secretary of Interior, through the Director of the Fish and Wildlife Service, on aquatic conservation endeavors that benefit recreational fishery resources and recreational boating and that encourage partnerships among industry, the public, and government.”
Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades.
