Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus Honors CSF Board Member Phil Morlock

On May 1, the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus Association of Canada hosted a reception to reveal the new Caucus logo. During the reception, Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors member Phil Morlock of Shimano American Corporation, was awarded the first Honorary Membership to the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus for his long-time advocacy for our outdoor heritage in Canada.

The award was presented by Member of Parliament Gudie Hutchings and Bob Zimmer.

Modeled after the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus is one of the largest all-party caucuses on Parliament Hill. Its mission is to entrench in law, fishing, hunting, trapping and shooting sports as acceptable, traditional, environmentally-sustainable outdoor heritage activities with a safety credo and a conservation ethic as our highest priorities.

CSF congratulates Phil Morlock and commends the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus for recognizing the rich outdoor traditions of Canadian sportsmen and women within Parliament.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
