Last week, former Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors member Phil Morlock announced his retirement from Shimano at the end of June 2020. Morlock has played an integral role on the Board with his leadership in conservation and policy for the future of fishing and other outdoor recreational opportunities. Upon retirement, Morlock will continue to work for access and opportunities in the outdoors for sportsmen and women. Morlock has led Shimano corporate efforts in fish habitat improvement, scientific research to improve catch and release fish handling methods, youth conservation initiatives, academic scholarships for fish & wildlife studies and access, among others.
Phil Morlock also played a pivotal role over the course of his tenure on the Board, particularly for his leadership in the launch of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) in 2004, which today is comprised of over 2,000 state legislators from 49 states.
“Phil’s dedication to sportsmen and women, not just in Canada but across the United States, has been critical in helping protect and advance policies allowing anglers and outdoor enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy their favorite pastimes. He is a tried and true sportsman who is passionate about our time-honored traditions and we are grateful for his support,” said Jeff Crane, President of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation.
