Last week, President Trump announced his intention to nominate Kate MacGregor to serve as Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior (DOI).
Since joining the DOI in 2017, MacGregor has served in a number of roles including Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of Lands and Minerals Management, and her current role as Deputy Chief of Staff. She also exercised the authority of Deputy Secretary. Prior to joining the Department, MacGregor worked in Congress on the House Natural Resources Committee under two different Chairmen where she gained critical knowledge to further the DOI’s mission.
“The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation applauds the intention of the President to nominate Kate MacGregor as the Deputy Secretary of the Department of the Interior,” said Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation President Jeff Crane. “During her time at the Department and on Capitol Hill, Kate has demonstrated a clear and firm commitment to America’s sportsmen and women. We look forward to working with the Senate to advance her nomination and to confirm her as the Deputy Secretary.”
The President will need to formally submit MacGregor’s nomination to the Senate where it will await further action.
