Public Comment Period Open for Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Council Proposed Rule Changes

On October 14, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) Commission released proposed hunting-related rule changes for the 2021-2022 seasons. The public comment period is now open.

Among others, the proposed rule changes include:

FWC Commissioners will consider the proposed rule changes and advise staff how to move forward during their December 2020 meeting. Commissioners will then consider the proposed rule changes for final approval during their February 2021 meeting.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
