Why it Matters: The Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus facilitates communication and information exchange between participating offices in support of policies and regulations that promote and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting, and trapping. The bipartisan leadership team is staffed through the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation and works to protect and advance the interests of America’s sportsmen and women, and advocate for professional fish and wildlife management policy.
The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) would like to thank New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu for his commitment to serve as the Republican Vice-Chair for the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus (GSC). As an active sportsman, Governor Sununu has led by example and continuously reflects his appreciation for the protection and advancement of our nation’s time-honored sporting traditions.
Governor Sununu has a long history of standing firm for New Hampshire’s sporting community, having signed two pro-sportsmen’s bills into law earlier this year, vetoing 2020 legislation that intended to curb individuals’ Second Amendment rights, and repeatedly issuing National Hunting and Fishing Day proclamations.
“New Hampshire has a rich tradition in our nation’s sporting heritages, and I’m proud to represent the Granite State by serving as the Republican Vice-Chair for the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus,” said GSC Vice-Chair Governor Chris Sununu. “Sportsmen and women are the financial backbone for our nation’s state-level conservation efforts. I am equally as honored to work alongside the New Hampshire Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus in the Granite State. I look forward to serving in my new role where I will be a strong advocate for sportsmen’s issues on the national level.”
Jeff Crane, CSF’s President and CEO, welcomed Governor Sununu into his leadership role.
“We are excited to have Governor Sununu as a leader of the Governor’s Sportsmen’s Caucus,” said CSF President and CEO Jeff Crane. “His steadfast commitment to New Hampshire’s sportsmen and women represents the passion and dedication he has to keep sporting traditions thriving, and we look forward to working alongside him to enhance our heritage for all of America’s sportsmen and women.”
Jim Morse, President of the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation – an organization of which CSF enjoys a strong and reliable working relationship, stated, “The New Hampshire Wildlife Federation is excited to see Governor Sununu taking a leadership role within the Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus. Governor Sununu has been a great partner helping to defend the right to hunt, fish and trap in New Hampshire, and he will be a tremendous asset to the work of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation across the country.”
CSF welcomes Governor Chris Sununu to his new leadership position and looks forward to continuing to work alongside him on sportsmen’s policies within New Hampshire and across the nation.

To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
