The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF), in support of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus (CSC), held its annual “Welcome Back to Congress” reception on February 7th. More than 45 bipartisan members of Congress attended including CSC leaders: Sen. Jon Tester, Sen. Kay Hagan, Sen. Jim Risch, Rep. Jeff Miller, Rep. Mike Ross and Rep. Bob Latta.
Jeff Crane, president of the CSF, said, “This year Congress is considering bills that will affect sportsmen; for example, the Recreational Fishing and Hunting Heritage and Opportunities Act, which would protect fishing, hunting, trapping, recreational shooting and wildlife management practices on more than 400 million acres of public land, has been introduced by Caucus members in the House and Senate. It was great to see that so many legislators, from both political parties, came and showed their support for sportsmen at the CSF’s Welcome Back to Congress reception.”
This event is another fundamental way the CSF brings legislators together for sportsmen and it couldn’t have taken place without the following support. The title sponsor of the event was Amgen. The event’s hosts were API (American Petroleum Institute), The Coca-Cola Company and National Rifle Association. The co-hosts for the event were: The Accord Group, Association of Fish & Wildlife Agencies, ATK, Cabela’s, Capitol Hill Consulting Group, Cauthen Forbes & Williams, Crossroads Strategies, Diageo, Jeffrey J. Kimbell and Associates, The Madison Group, National Beer Wholesalers Association, National Marine Manufacturers Association, Natural Resource Results, National Shooting Sports Foundation, Patton Boggs, Richard Childress Racing, Safari Club International and Shimano American Corporation.
