Bob Ziehmer currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer for Mule Deer Foundation where he is responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, strategic plan implementation, and coordination across programs and partnerships.
Prior to joining MDF, Bob served as Senior Director of Conservation for Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s, and served over 25 years with the Missouri Department of Conservation, the agency responsible for managing the state’s forest, fish and wildlife resources, where his work included: leading efforts to restore elk; prairie chickens; alligator gar; pallid sturgeon; and the American burying beetle; ensuring Missouri remained a national leader in forest, fish and wildlife research and management; and served as a member of the Governor’s Cabinet, among others.
Mr. Ziehmer has an unwavering passion for hunting, angling, and trapping. His father’s commitment to spending time afield with him instilled the importance of conservation and our individual responsibilities to manage fish and wildlife for future generations which he has passed along to his children.
