As America’s inside connection to outdoor legislation, CSF is no stranger to working on behalf of sportsmen each and every day. However, many individuals may not know the entire scope of CSF’s efforts, from working with lawmakers in all 50 states and Capitol Hill to staffers guiding coalitions and councils on various critical conservation topics. Last week, CSF’s good work was exposed to a broad audience thanks to the publication of articles on the popular MeatEater website and the iconic Game & Fish Magazine.
On Tuesday, March 7, Meateater.com published the article, Inside The Campaign To Divorce Hunters From Wildlife Policy. In the column, CSF’s Joe Mullin, Northeastern States Manager, was interviewed regarding an ongoing nationwide campaign to limit the role that hunters play in crafting wildlife policy in the United States. Throughout, Mullin highlighted efforts in multiple states by obstructionists to influence wildlife agencies and commissions via political appointments and ballot initiatives.
Later, on Wednesday, March 9, noted outdoor journalist Andrew McKean published an editorial in Game & Fish Magazine, Little-Known Advocacy Group Champions Hunting, Fishing and Shooting. In his write-up on the efforts of CSF, McKean described what makes the Foundation so effective, how caucus architecture is utilized to engage bipartisanship, and he gives readers the information necessary to further connect with CSF.
