With the 2017 Oregon legislative session officially adjourning on July 7, the Oregon Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus took the opportunity to reflect on all the progress the Caucus made in furthering its mission of protecting and advancing hunting, angling, recreational shooting, trapping and other outdoor activities in Oregon through professional management.
In its end-of-session briefing letter, the Caucus noted some of the prominent benchmarks achieved during the 2017 session, including the passage of nine Caucus-supported bills, weekly bill tracking, hosting numerous meetings and events, and the hiring of a Caucus Coordinator.
Caucus Co-Chair Representative Brad Witt noted, “The Oregon Sportsmen’s Caucus takes tremendous pride in our legislative and other accomplishments made on behalf of our state’s sportsmen and women during the 2017 legislative session. This bipartisan, bicameral group will continue to work with our in-state and national sportsmen’s partners to protect and advance Oregon’s outdoor heritage.”
