The 2013 Sportsmen’s Economic Impact Report

In January, CSF released state specific factsheets highlighting the economic impact from sportsmen and women in all 50 states.  The state fact sheets follow the release of CSF’s national report, America’s Sporting Heritage, Fueling the American Economy, which was released in mid-January. Intended to provide a series of “sound bites” that resonate within the outdoor community as well as the general public, the CSF data spotlights some of the most compelling information about hunters and anglers in every state. To view the 50 state reports, click here.

The base data for the CSF report and state fact sheets comes from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service’s 2011 National Survey of Fishing, Hunting and Wildlife Associated Recreation.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
