Assistant Manager, Southwestern States

Barry Snell

Barry Snell joined the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) in October 2023, and serves as the Assistant Manager for the Southwestern States.  Barry works closely with the state legislative and gubernatorial sportsmen’s caucus members and their advisory councils in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, and Utah.

Barry comes to CSF from the Iowa Firearms Coalition, an organization he led for several years as President and eventually Executive Director.  During his tenure, he played a leading role in revamping Iowa’s firearm and firearm hunting laws to make Iowa one of America’s most Second Amendment friendly states.  His greatest achievement during that time was co-authoring Iowa’s 49th constitutional amendment and shepherding that legislation through its initial passage, after which it eventually went on to be approved by the people of Iowa during the 2022 general election with a 65% majority.

Barry learned an appreciation for the outdoors and conservation early on through hunting, fishing, and camping trips with family and the Boy Scouts. Barry worked as an outdoor guide and held multiple positions during his time with the U.S. Army and two sheriff’s departments.  Barry has an Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Political Science and History.  Barry also has earned numerous certifications as a professional firearms instructor.
