- Senator Goodman and Representative Standridge step into these new roles following the exits of former Caucus Co-Chairs Senator Del Marsh and Representative Mike Jones from the legislature.
- Senator Williams and Representative Standridge join NASC Executive Council Alternate Member Representative Danny Crawford and Senator Clay Scofield on the Caucus leadership bench.
In addition to a strong state Caucus leadership bench, Alabama’s pro-sportsmen delegation also features Governors Sportsmen’s Caucus Member Governor Kay Ivey and several members of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus.
Entering the 2023 legislative session with over half of the legislature as members, the Caucus will look to build upon recent successes, such as increasing hunter opportunity and assisting in efforts to manage feral hog and coyote populations in the state through the passage of legislation that allows hunters to hunt feral hogs and coyotes at night. Additionally, in 2022, the Caucus held a successful breakfast where the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources provided a talk on efforts to combat Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD).
Sportsmen and women in Alabama contribute over $52 million to conservation funding through the “user pays — public benefits” structure known as the American System of Conservation Funding, and they can rest assured knowing that the Caucus continues to work to identify opportunities to benefit hunting and angling in the state.
The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation looks forward to working alongside Senator Williams and Representative Standridge moving forward and will continue to be engaged on issues impacting Alabama’s sportsmen and women.
