Policy Briefing – March 19

Event Date: March 19, 2026 Event Time: 8:30am - 9:30am Location: Washington, DC

Public lands are the backbone of many local communities by providing economic and recreational opportunities. Critical to our outdoor heritage, public lands support our time-honored traditions of hunting, fishing, trapping, and recreational shooting. Our uniquely American network of public lands also supports other uses including hiking, camping, energy extraction and production, food and fiber production by our nation’s ranchers, timber production, and a host of other activities. However, public lands are increasingly impacted by complex policy decisions around land management, access opportunities, lawsuits impacting necessary management, and in some cases, lack of resource investments.

This briefing will provide an opportunity to hear from a diverse panel representing different interests about how current policies are affecting our public lands and what opportunities exist to address challenges surrounding the enjoyment and use of these lands.
