Sofia joined CSF in August 2026 as the Coordinator for Rocky Mountain States. In this role, she works closely with the legislative sportsmen’s caucuses under the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico.
Before joining CSF, Sofia was a research scientist at the University of Wyoming with the Wildlife and Wilderness Recreation Lab and the Monteith Shop, following the completion of her master’s degree at the University of Wyoming in Environment, Natural Resources, and Society. Her research explores hunter participation in wildlife governance and management practices in Wyoming, as well as how state wildlife commissioners in Colorado and Wyoming make decisions around wildlife management. During her master’s, she worked closely with state officials and wildlife agencies and received R3 scholarships supporting her research. Her most recent project examined hunter perceptions of deer and elk competition on the landscape.
Sofia earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, with an emphasis in Biological Anthropology and a minor in Sociology, from the University of Colorado, Boulder. She went on to work as a wildlife technician with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, and later as a Park Ranger with the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources.
Born and raised in Colorado, Sofia developed a deep passion for the West throughout her life. She’s an avid outdoorswoman who enjoys activities such as hiking, backpacking, camping, horseback riding, and snowboarding, along with big game hunting–with a special affinity for archery elk hunting in Northwestern Colorado.
