Arizona: BLM Announces Additional Public Meetings on Sonoran Desert Recreational Shooting Plan

In response to high public interest, the Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Phoenix District Office has announced that it will host two additional public information meetings, at which the BLM will accept comments on the proposed management alternatives for recreational shooting on the Sonoran Desert National Monument (SDNM).

The BLM released the Draft Target Shooting Plan for the SDNM in December 2016, and will be accepting formal comments until March 15, 2017.

Sportsmen and women interested in providing feedback to the BLM on the proposed management alternatives can do so online, or at the following times and locations:

– February 11, from 12:00 – 3:00 pm at the Cooper Sky Recreation Center located at 44342 W Martin Luther King Blvd in Maricopa

– February 21, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm at the Burton Barr Central Library located at 1221 N Central Ave in Phoenix
