Florida:Florida Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus Holds Caucus Dinner

The Florida Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus held a caucus dinner on Thursday, April 11 at a hunting preserve outside of Tallahassee in the waning weeks of the legislative session. The dinner provided an opportunity to discuss sportsmen’s issues, welcome new Caucus members and highlight the form and function of the Florida Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus. In attendance were various legislators and numerous other invited guests who dined on quail, black buck, venison, elk and other wild game.  The Florida Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus is Co-Chaired by Representative Doug Holder and Senator Thad Altman, and is comprised of 37 bipartisan legislators committed to protecting and advancing hunting, recreational fishing and shooting and trapping.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
