Bruce Culpepper*

Bruce is the retired President of Shell Oil Company where he oversaw strategy for all Shell assets and businesses in the United States. He graduated in 1981 with honors from the University of Alabama. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources Management, Bruce began his career at the Norco Manufacturing Complex in Louisiana.  His 37.5 years at Shell encompassed a number of international and domestic Upstream, Downstream, and Corporate leadership roles.

Bruce is an avid outdoorsman with a keen interest in land and water conservation. For over 10 years, Bruce’s responsibilities at Shell included managing the conservation investment and stake holders’ portfolio. In 2015, Bruce served as a member of the Blue Ribbon Panel on Sustaining America’s Diverse Fish and Wildlife Resources. The panel included a diverse group of public and private sector thought leaders who recommend a funding solution to effectively manage the full array of fish and wildlife species and allow more access to public lands.

Bruce was honored to receive recognition for his conservation efforts as the recipient of the 2018 TRCP Conservation Achievement Award, 2018 AFWA Johnny Morris Award, and 2018 DU Texas Stewardship Award.  Bruce has and continues to serve as a director or trustee on numerous boards related to conservation, business and economic development, including; the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation, the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), the Building Conservation Trust (BCT), the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation, the Alabama Growth Alliance and Three Notch Engineering. Bruce is also an active member of the Boone and Crockett Club.

Bruce and his family spend as much time as possible enjoying the great outdoors, engaging in hunting, shooting, fishing and water sports. He and his wife, Marguerite, reside at their home and property in North Alabama. Their son Addison also lives nearby in North Alabama and is an avid outdoorsman.
