On Thursday, March 14, the House Committee on Natural Resources held a hearing on the Preserving Access to Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area Act (H.R. 819). This bill will reinstate the Interim Management Strategy governing off-road vehicle (ORV) use in the Cape Hatteras National Seashore Recreational Area. During the hearing, Representative Walter Jones, sponsor of H.R. 819, testified before the committee, urging them to pass this legislation in order to restore access to the park and promote the local economy.
