Northeast: CSF Hosts Luncheon for State Fish and Wildlife Agency Directors

Contact: Brent Miller, Senior Director, Northeastern States

On April 14, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) hosted a luncheon for state fish and wildlife agency Directors at the Northeast Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies conference in Groton, Connecticut. The luncheon followed a range day where the Directors learned about technical advances in firearms technology including both firearm suppressors and turkey loads.

During the luncheon CSF’s Senior Director of Northeastern States Brent Miller provided remarks and informed the Directors of trends in anti-sportsman legislation CSF is tracking throughout the region, as well as CSF’s efforts to tell the story of America’s sportsmen and women as our nation’s preeminent conservationists. Visit CSF’s website for state-specific information on the funding sportsmen and women provide to state agencies through the American System of Conservation Funding.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
