On September 14, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) was credited multiple times during the Association of Fish and Wildlife Agencies’ (AFWA) virtual Annual Awards Ceremony.
CSF’s President Jeff Crane was bestowed with a Special Recognition Award, as was CSF’s New England States Senior Coordinator Joe Mullin, as part of the National R3 Implementation Work Group (IWG) he serves on in support of the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports (CAHSS).
As stated in AFWA’s press release, “No two individuals have been more instrumental in mustering support for the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act than Collin O’Mara, President and CEO of the National Wildlife Federation, and Jeff Crane, President of the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation.”
CSF is grateful for receiving AFWA’s recognition with this award. Crane’s tireless leadership has allowed CSF to weather the everchanging political landscapes and bring unity across party lines to pass policy priorities, such as the historic Great American Outdoors Act.
“Despite many political headwinds in a largely divided government, Jeff has been a champion for building and guiding bipartisan support for a number of important conservation policies. With respect to RAWA, Jeff has again proven himself a master coalition builder, working with his staff to help secure vital support among members of Congress,” stated the release.
CSF’s Mullin takes pride in being a part of the award granted to the National R3 IWG. CAHSS stated, “Since 2018, these individuals, representing state and federal fish and wildlife agencies, conservation non-profits, and industry partners, have collaborated as part of the National R3 Implementation Workgroup (IWG) to address critical barriers impeding progression in state, regional, and national R3 efforts.”
Mullin has worked alongside exemplary conservation professionals and engaged on numerous key directives aimed at rectifying the R3 hurdles our nation faces. Mullin appreciates the opportunity to represent CSF on the National R3 IWG and in taking an active role towards ensuring the longevity of our country’s sporting heritage.
