Vista Outdoor CEO Mark DeYoung Appointed as CSF Honorary Board Member

Recently, the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) Board of Directors appointed Vista Outdoor Chairman and CEO Mark DeYoung as an Honorary Board Member. DeYoung joins 30 leaders of the sportsmen’s community and allied industries who are committed to CSF’s mission to work with Congress, governors, and state legislatures to protect and advance hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping.

As an avid sportsman and true conservationist, DeYoung understands the important role the sportsmen’s community plays in conservation funding and education.  He is a native of Utah where he frequently enjoys pursuing his passion for the outdoors.  DeYoung initially joined the Board in 2013 and was later elected to serve a two-year term as CSF’s Board Chairman from 2015 until 2017.

Vista Outdoor is the umbrella company for more than 50 well-recognized outdoor brands, including some of the most popular hunting and recreational shooting brands. Formally adding DeYoung back to the CSF Board is essential to the success of the organization’s mission to protect and advance the sportsmen’s interests.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
