Taylor Schmitz


Taylor joined the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) in 2016 and currently serves as the Director, Federal Relations.

At CSF, Taylor works directly with the Congressional Sportsmen’s Caucus, the Administration, and federal agencies to advance bipartisan, meaningful solutions to issues of importance to sportsmen and women. Taylor regularly testifies on Capitol Hill as an expert witness on pressing issues facing sportsmen and women as well as fish and wildlife. Taylor is a past Chairman of the American Wildlife Conservation Partners (AWCP), the nation’s leading consortium of 52 hunting, recreational shooting, and other conservation organizations, was named the 2023 – 2024 Delta Waterfowl Conservation Leader, and in 2020 was named to the “40 under 40” list by SHOT Business. Taylor also serves on the Council to Advance Hunting and the Shooting Sports Board of Directors, and has served on a number of important advisory councils. Additionally, Taylor is a Professional Member of the Boone & Crockett Club.

A native of Mt. Airy, Maryland, Taylor enjoys recreational shooting, fishing, and hunting. Taylor particularly enjoys bow hunting for white-tailed deer, waterfowl hunting, and chasing turkeys in the spring. He also enjoys fly-fishing for trout and smallmouth bass and every aspect of saltwater fishing.
