The Cornhusker State is steeped in prairie history and offers some of the nation’s most unique hunting experiences. Nebraska is home to the Sandhills region, one of the largest remaining tracts of native grassland in the United States. Here, hunters can pursue game species such as pronghorn, mule deer, ring-necked pheasant, and sharp-tailed grouse in this wild landscape. Nebraska is also known for its excellent waterfowl hunting opportunities, particularly in the Platte River Valley. Every year, tens of thousands of ducks and geese migrate through the state, offering hunters a chance to test their wingshooting. For anglers, Nebraska’s many rivers and lakes provide a variety of fishing opportunities. The state’s numerous reservoirs are known for their bass, walleye, and catfish populations, while the North Platte River is a prime destination for trout fishing.
