Earlier this month, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) published a call for nominations to the Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board, a Federal Advisory Committee tasked with advising federal agencies concerning the management, protection, and control of wild free-roaming horses and burros on public lands.
Issues surrounding the management of wild horse and burro populations are of interest to the sportsmen’s community because of their impacts to indigenous wildlife species, habitat, rangeland resources and federal agency budgets. Given these factors, it is important that the nation’s sporting conservation advocates are engaged in the management of wild horses and burros.
Current vacancies on the Wild Horse and Burro Advisory Board include the following appointment categories: Public Interest; Wild Horse and Burro Advocacy; and Veterinary Medicine.
