On October 4, the Kansas Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus hosted a reception in advance of their annual fall pheasant hunt, which was held at Ravenwood Lodge outside Topeka, Kansas. The reception’s goal was to assist the Caucus in continuing their mission of advancing hunting, angling, recreational shooting and trapping in Kansas.
Caucus Co-Chairs Representative Ken Corbet and Senator Rick Billinger spoke at the reception, thanking the event’s sponsors and emphasizing the importance of sportsmen and women to Kansas.
Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach said during the reception, “Over the years, I’ve been able to spend plenty of time afield across our great state. When I see the remarkably healthy habitats and incredible numbers of game and non-game species sportsmen and women have worked hard to conserve in Kansas, it’s no surprise that our state is a destination for hunters and anglers from across the country.”
Caucus members; conservation group representatives; staff from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism; and allied industry partners will gather in November to participate in the hunt and discuss issues of importance to sportsmen and women in the state.
