Recently, Senator Tyler Harper accepted the leadership position of Senate Co-Chair for the Georgia Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus (Caucus). Senator Harper steps into this position with the retirement of National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) Executive Council President and Senate Caucus Co-Chair Senator Bill Heath.
The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) welcomes Senator Harper to his leadership role for the bicameral and bipartisan Caucus. Senator Harper’s leadership, alongside House Caucus Co-Chair Representative David Knight and Governor’s Sportsmen Caucus member Governor Brian Kemp, will be instrumental in protecting and advancing Georgia’s strong sporting traditions.
CSF also thanks Senator Heath for his invaluable leadership throughout his tenure as a Caucus Co-Chair and member of the NASC Executive Council.
Georgia’s 1,059,000 sportsmen and women contribute approximately $54 million to fish and wildlife conservation each year through the American System of Conservation Funding. Hunters and anglers in the Peach State generate more than $2.3 billon to the state’s economy which helps support 39,640 jobs.
Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
