New Hampshire: Sportsmen’s Caucus Leaders Announced for the 2019 Legislative Session

By Brent Miller, Senior Director, Northeastern States

The Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF) is pleased to announce the Co-Chairs of the bipartisan and bicameral New Hampshire Legislative Sportsmen’s Caucus for the 2019 legislative session.

The New Hampshire Sportsmen’s Caucus was formed in 2009 and is part of the National Assembly of Sportsmen’s Caucuses (NASC) network, which now includes 48 state legislative caucuses across the country with the common mission to protect and advance hunting and angling in their respective states.

On the Senate side, Senator Bob Giuda will be returning for another year of leading the Caucus. Sen. Giuda also serves on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee to which many sportsmen’s bills are assigned. Joining Sen. Giuda as a Caucus leader is Senator Kevin Cavanaugh, who is Chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, and Vice-Chair of the Senate Executive Departments and Administration Committee.

On the House side, the Caucus will continue to be led by Representative Jeff Goley, a long-standing Caucus Co-Chair and Secretary of the NASC Executive Council. Joining Rep. Goley in leading the Caucus is Representative John Klose. Rep. Klose serves on the House Fish and Game and Marine Resources Committee.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
