Public Comment Period Open for Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources Proposed Regulation Changes

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR) is accepting public comment on proposed regulation changes related to fishing, resource management, and access to department-managed lands. 

Among others, the proposed regulation changes include:

The deadline to comment on the proposed regulation changes is October 11. Comments may be submitted online or by mail. The DWR Board will vote on the proposed regulations during their meeting on October 22.

Studies conducted at both the state and federal level have found that the number of hunters and trappers have been on a generally declining trend over the past several decades. To increase recruitment, retention, and reactivation (R3) of hunters and trappers, which initiative do you think would have the greatest impact?
